Liberty Comic Con at Philly Expo Center

August 7-9, 2026

Attention comic book and anime lovers! Head out to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center this weekend for the fourth annual Liberty Comic Con to meet like-minded pop culture fans, stop by a slew of vendors, and interact with voice actors, artists, writers, cosplayers and more over the three-day weekend.

The event features panels, cosplay performances and contests, gaming tournaments from Video Game Corners, quizzo challenges, and opportunities to meet and greet with voice artists from series like Bleach, Jujutsu Kaisen and more.

Don’t miss: Philadelphia native Aqua Forge visits the festival for meet and greets as the festival’s Featured Cosplayer.

National Night Out in Gloucester City and Surrounding Areas

Neighborhoods throughout Gloucester Township are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 43rd Annual Night Out (NNO) crime/drug prevention event. National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Gloucester Township Police Department and will involve communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases around the world.

Jefferson Stratford Hospital to Host Free Food Pantry & Health Fair

On Saturday, August 22 from 9am to 11am, Jefferson Stratford Hospital will host a free community food pantry and health fair on their campus at 18 Laurel Road East, Stratford, NJ 08084.

Designed to help local families prepare for the start of a new school year, the food pantry and health fair will provide access to nutritious food boxes donated by the South Jersey Food Bank, free school supplies (pencils, notebooks, erasers, highlighters, scissors and rulers) donated by Jefferson-East employees and access to healthcare resources, including representatives from Jefferson Health’s departments of primary care, weight management, infection prevention, food and nutrition, obstetrics &  gynecology, Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation and the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Centers.

National Night Out In Gloucester Township – August 4, 2026!

Blackwood Fire Company, Fire District 4, 14 West Central Avenue, Blackwood, NJ

Gloucester Premium Outlets, 100 Premium Outlet Drive, Blackwood, NJ

Erial Fire Company, Fire District 6, 1946 Williamstown Road, Erial NJ

From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on August 4, 2026 residents throughout Gloucester Township are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outside with their neighbors and police. Also, several Neighborhood Watch groups will be hosting a variety of special events, such as block parties, cookouts, carnivals, dessert tasting parties, and pool parties. Visiting these many special events will be: McGruff the Crime Dog along with his nephew Scruff, Gloucester Township Police, and Gloucester Township Mayor and Council !

DNREC to Host Introduction to Living Shorelines Training

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will host a two-day training event Tuesday Sept. 22 and Wednesday Sept. 23 for anyone interested in an introduction to the development process and components of living shorelines in Delaware. Presented in conjunction with the Delaware Living Shorelines Committee, the in-person training event will be held at the DNREC Field Office on Pilottown Road in Lewes, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concluding at 4 p.m. each day.

The training focuses on the ecology behind living shorelines and implementing projects based on specific goals. On day one of the training, participants will learn about the causes and kinds of shoreline issues, define the types of living shoreline solutions, and become acquainted with the plants and animals comprising and living in shoreline habitats. Day two of the training will span techniques and applications, an introduction to living shoreline materials, designing for specific goals and a review of project permitting.

New Jersey Blood Services’ Annual “Blood For A Brew” Campaign Returns

New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS) is kicking off its fifth annual “Blood for a Brew” campaign to encourage blood donations during the critical summer months. Expanded this year to include local coffee shops in addition to breweries, the campaign offers everyone who comes to donate at a NJBS donor center or mobile blood drive from August 1 through August 31 a voucher redeemable for a free beverage at a participating establishment.

National Night Out 2026 Across the City

National Night Out is an annual celebration that brings police and communities together to strengthen relationships, build trust and promote safer neighborhoods. Events will be held throughout Philadelphia, giving residents an opportunity to meet the police officers and commanders who serve their neighborhoods, get to know their neighbors and enjoy an evening of family-friendly activities.

Police Commissioner Kevin J. Bethel and members of the PPD command staff will visit National Night Out events across the city throughout the evening.

DNREC Launches Summer Paddle Challenge

Paddle your way through Delaware’s scenic waterways, earn prizes and discover new places to explore with two new programs coinciding with the 75th anniversary of Delaware State Parks. The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Division of Parks and Recreation has launched Paddle Quest, a statewide paddling challenge, along with new self-service kayak rentals at Delaware Seashore State Park.

Paddle Quest encourages participants to explore Delaware State Parks by kayak, canoe or paddleboat while promoting safe boating practices. Participants must submit a picture of themselves wearing a properly fitted Personal Flotation Device at a qualifying boat launch or boat rental area and visit a minimum of two locations to qualify for prizes. All entries must be submitted to Paddle Quest by Sept. 1.

Haddon Township Junior Police Academy Through July 31

The Haddon Township Police Department is currently hosting its second annual Junior Police Academy, a week-long program that gives local middle school students a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement while fostering leadership, teamwork, and community engagement.

The academy runs through Friday, July 31, and features hands-on activities including physical training, crime scene investigations, K-9, SWAT and Bomb Squad demonstrations, New Jersey State Police specialty units, fire and emergency services operations, and more.
